Highly recommended!

Take away cinque minuti. Market dieci minuti.

My husband and I stayed at the Cottage the first week of November. Everything we could have possibly needed for a week on Long Island was either available at the Cottage, or by asking our hosts. The Island may not be for travelers who expect loads of amenities, as there are no fast food chains, or multinational corporations (Walmart, etc) here. But if you want a vacation where you can get away from almost everything (there is wifi, and satellite tv) - this is the place. The Cottage really is as cute as the pictures. The full size kitchen meant that we could cook breakfast and when we wanted to, dinner. Sara, the owner of the place took us to the nearby grocery stores, and liquor stores, so we knew where they were. Then we had a rental car to go exploring. We used the Wera's Kayaks in the beautiful little bay (about a 5 minute walk down a level road), we used their snorkle gear which was in good shape to go snorkling and to Dean's Blue Hole. There was a cooler - so we were able to pack a lunch and snacks to take with us each day. There was a washer and dryer in the cottage - which was nice, but we only used the dryer to dry our swim stuff and towels. The sheets were nicer than many hotels I have been to, and the place was spotless. Very helpful were the maps and guides to the island that Sara provided us. There was information on the history of the island, including the abandoned plantations. With all the information about the Island and what to see, we were able to plan our days easily. And while this is a review of the Cottage, I would share that the roads on Long Island are not very good. Especially when you get off the Queens Highway and try to go to the beaches. Just fyi. Make sure you have a good vehicle with good tires.

One of the best vacations I've ever had and I've been to over 40 countries. If you look for off the beaten path place, you've found it. You pick your beach and it's all yours. That being said you can find anything you want to buy on the island. Sara and Dan have build a great place. The pictures don't do it justice. They are very friendly and accommodated any request we had. Ask them and they will point you in the right direction. Can't wait to go back.

Leaving the cold, dreary Northeast behind, we knew we'd found our perfect antidote in the beautiful blue of Long Island and our house rental at the "Boat House". As soon as we climbed the stairs to the lovely deck overlooking the turquoise water beyond, I knew I had booked a winner! Once inside it was exactly as described and more and so 'beachy comfortable. While I had told my husband that this was to be my vacation from cooking, the full size completely outfitted kitchen gave me second thoughts! (Only for a moment!) Sara and Dan were so helpful pointing us to all the local eating spots and 'Happy Hours" and anything else we neeeded to know that wasn't already in their put together Island guide. Put this one on your list, not to be missed!
We would highly recommend this property to any couple. Sara and Dan thought of everything- including use of bikes and kayak and supplying drinking water at no extra charge. They have a great T.V., lots of movies and satellite music. Their cottage is the best we've rented in seven trips to Bahamas outislands and our fourth time to Long Island. We also rented our nicest car from Annie's-the car is a must as there is lots to see on Long Island. Sara suggested we tour Cartwright's Cave, which was right on as a must-see. We love the people on Long Island, the great bonefishing, and the many beautiful deserted beaches. We will return and thanks again to Sara and Dan for the best stay.
